Crews tackle fire in Melksham barn
Fire Safety News
Firefighters have been tackling a blaze in a barn in Wiltshire. Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said 19 firefighters were sent to Boundary Farm in Berryfield Lane in Melksham after being called at 00:15 BST. The fire had spread from the barn, which contained about 40 tonnes of hay and straw, to a neighbouring silage store. Crews teamed up with farm workers to create a fire break in the silage to prevent further spread. Firefighters were expected to remain at the farm throughout the day.
