Fire Training and Fire Safety Courses

At Active Fire Management we have a wealth of experience in the delivery of fire safety training courses for many organisations throughout the UK. Amongst the fire training courses we offer are Basic Fire Awareness (including fire extinguisher training) and Fire Marshal/Responsible Person courses.

Our friendly, competent and experienced fire instructors deliver enjoyable and informative fire training courses that your staff will find enlightening and memorable to ensure information is retained.

Basic Fire Safety Awareness

Normally 3 hours in duration the aim of the course being to ensure participants attending have basic knowledge of fire prevention measures.  They will have greater awareness of the danger of fire and how to prevent fires from occurring.  Participants will be prepared for fire and know what to do should fire break out.

Furthermore, participants will gain essential knowledge of:

  • Their responsibilities with regard to fire safety
  • The danger of fire and how fire can spread
  • The threat to people and property
  • Fire procedures and why they are implemented
  • The action to take upon discovery of fire and the urgent of raising the alarm
  • The different types of fire extinguisher and the classes of fire on which they should be used.

Courses are held for up to 20 delegates at a time, in our clients own premises. For larger groups of delegates, we frequently deliver two courses per day.

Fire Marshal Training

Normally 6 hours in duration the aim of the course is to enhance the knowledge of skills of course participants in regard to their responsibilities and associated actions as fire marshals.

By the end of the course delegates will gain essential knowledge of:

  • Their responsibilities and the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order
  • Common risks and problems
  • Your evacuation arrangements
  • Undertaking the specific procedures in the event of fire as per your Emergency Plan
  • The safe evacuation of persons with disabilities
  • The benefits of early detection of fire
  • The basic responsibilities in regard to fire systems
  • Testing arrangements
  • Their responsibilities relating to record keeping
  • How and when to complete any specific fire related documentation
  • The chemistry of fire and the phenomena associated with fire
  • The different classes of fire and the associated fire fighting extinguishing agents available
  • The dangers of tackling fires and the use of extinguishers and other associated equipment such as fire blankets

If you have not carried out staff fire safety training in the last six to twelve months, then please do contact us to arrange your in-house fire safety training requirements as soon as possible. It is a requirement that all staff receive fire training immediate upon induction and at least once per annum.

We also offer fire extinguishers as well as a range of fire training videos which cover a range of subjects and aspects of fire safety.
